Questions of accessibility are not only of practical relevance. Rather, they are central concepts for understanding society in general and human-technology-world relationships in particular. Despite this fundamental social significance, however, this topic has not yet appeared to be of central importance in the humanities and social sciences. The lecture series ‘Access - Transdisciplinary Perspectives on Accessibility’ organised by the Forum Internationale Wissenschaft Bonn (FIW) approaches the multi-layered research field of access(ibility) from various perspectives and aims to contribute to establishing accessibility as a basic transdisciplinary concept.
This workshop is aimed at scholarship holders of the Pathways programme We are living in turbulent times: The Middle East conflict remains unresolved, the world is watching developments in the USA, and anti-Semitic and racist incidents are also on the rise in Germany. These global and local events affect many people - whether directly or through daily headlines. They raise questions about one's own future, security and sense of belonging in Germany. The empowerment workshop invites you to talk about these and similar topics, reflect on fears and insecurities and develop strategies for action. In a safe space, we want to talk about how the constant feeling of alienation can be overcome and how we can respond to these challenges. Register via chancengerechtigkeit@uni-bonn.de
