Employee networks
The networks are supposed to provide an informal place for employees to come together on a voluntary basis to share common interests, goals or experiences.
Kick-Off of two new employee networks for more exchange, visibility and networking
Many people who work at the University of Bonn belong to social groups that are structurally disadvantaged. The university strives to create a working environment where employees feel safe and valued in all aspects of their identity and can participate on an equal footing. However, some members often remain invisible in a large organisation like the University of Bonn. This means not only that their experiences and perspectives are sometimes not sufficiently taken into account, but also that it is not always easy for them to find people with whom they can share these experiences.
The Equal Opportunity and Diversity Unit wants to make it easier for employees from science, technics and administration to share their experiences and is therefore launching two new employee networks (BN). These are addressed on the one hand to employees who identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bi- or asexual, trans*, inter*, queer, non-binary (LGBTQIA*) and on the other hand to employees who have experienced racism and identify themselves as BIPoC (Black People, Indigenous People and People of Colour).
The employee networks at the University of Bonn are intended to create a safe space in which employees can informally network, share their experiences and plan and implement joint activities. Anyone who falls under one of the two groups or both groups and would like to join in is welcome to get in touch using the contact details below.
