Diversity Days 2023
On the occasion of the German Diversity Day on 23 May 2023, the Vice Rectorate for Equal Opportunity and Diversity, together with the Unit of the same name, organised the Diversity Days at the University of Bonn for the second time in a row. We enjoyed spending the Diversity Days with you and would like to give you a short review of the two days of the event.
Panel discussion
"Diversity in German Academia"
Titled "Diversity in German Academia - A Reflective Look at the State of Affairs", experts took a critical, scientific look at "equal opportunities and diversity" at German universities and research institutions.
The panel discussion was designed as an exchange of experience and knowledge between the panelists. They discussed measures to promote internal institutional processes of review and change and to strengthen diversity awareness. An overview of the panelists and their biographies can be found here.
Fair of Opportunities
At the "Fair of Opportunities", which took place this year as part of the Dies Academicus, around 15 diversity-related initiatives and contact points presented themselves in the arcade courtyard of the main building. In addition to a wealth of information about their various projects, they also offered exciting hands-on activities where, with a bit of luck, prizes could be won. Visitors had the opportunity to talk to the representatives of the participating initiatives and to actively contribute their perspective. Winners of the Diversity Ralley
On the occasion of the Fair of Opportunities, visitors could take part in a diversity rally that led them to many activities and exhibitors. Book vouchers were raffled among the participants of the rally. The three winners have already been notified.
